Structuring and development of the GICAN network
GICAN, the association of naval and aeronautical shipbuilding industrialists, brings together several hundred players in the sector in France and internationally. In order to support the international development of its members, the association needed a tool to visualise, structure and leverage the global map of their locations.
CASSINI deployed its interactive mapping platform Atlas to transform a static database into an operational, scalable tool directly usable by GICAN teams and its members.
GICAN needed a clear and up-to-date view of its members' international presence. The challenge went beyond simple visualisation: it was about better directing the association's resources, identifying priority prospecting areas, creating local synergies between members and coordinating participation in international events.
Exploiting a spreadsheet database quickly proved insufficient. Similarly, a static map would have been unreadable and imprecise. The database needed to evolve continuously, integrate new locations, enable targeted searches and provide direct access to actionable information.
CASSINI designed an interactive map integrated into the Atlas platform, built around three pillars: dynamic data visualisation, advanced information filtering, and management autonomy for database updates.
The Atlas back-office enabled GICAN's operational teams to take ownership of the platform independently via secure administrator access. Since its deployment, the database has been enriched and updated directly by GICAN teams, ensuring up-to-date information that can be used in real time.

The interactive dashboard then allows locations to be filtered according to precise operational criteria: company size, geographic area, specialisation, type of activity or presence in a given territory. In a few clicks, teams can identify companies present in a country, organise collective actions or mobilise members at a trade fair or international mission.

Each map point gives access to a detailed profile and relevant contact information, facilitating internal coordination and networking.

Internally, GICAN now has a strategic management tool for its global network. The platform makes it possible to identify high-potential areas, optimise the planning of international missions and concentrate resources on priority markets. It also facilitates the organisation of collective actions (trade fairs, delegations, sector events) by quickly mobilising companies present in a given territory.
The centralisation and continuous updating of data has resulted in significant time savings for operational teams, greater reliability of information and a reduction in costs associated with the dispersion of contact databases.
Externally, member companies benefit from a high-value-added tool:
- increased international visibility;
- rapid identification of local partners;
- clear reading of competitive dynamics;
- simplified access to the association's representatives by geographic area.
Atlas thus becomes a lever for network animation and the creation of commercial opportunities. Beyond mapping, the platform constitutes a genuine instrument of economic development: it supports the internationalisation of members, strengthens the strategic coherence of the association and concretely enhances the value of belonging to the network.
This project illustrates CASSINI's ability to design bespoke digital solutions, performance-oriented and focused on return on investment, transforming an internal database into a strategic tool that generates value for an entire industrial ecosystem.
